IN WHICH WE FORAY INTO K-POP

Thanks to DJ FUCKING PRETENTIOUS' post featuring robotically co-ordinated dancing girls of generic Asian decent, I decided to look up said robotically co-ordinated dancing girls of generic Asian decent. Presenting Girls' Generation, a 9 (!!) member Korean pop group whose breakout single, Gee, I heard blasted incessantly at clothing stores when I visited the country in 2009. So what about their music?

Normally I avoid (insert country abbreviation here)-pop for four reasons (INCOMING ORDERED LIST):

1. I'm not a cat-ear wearing teenage girl with furry fantasies (HEY GRINDCORE WASSUP)


2. An unwashed 35 year-old man living in his parents' basement with furry fantasies


3. It makes me feel creepy for aforementioned reasons

and most importantly

4. It tends to be really, really insipid and obnoxiously high-pitched.

So why am I writing a post about legitimately awful music? THE OUTFITS. Also, a couple of their songs are actually kind of... good. And I might listen to them more than once. Maybe.


Gold shoes. Duh.


Gold body suit. Duh.


Asymetrical silver minidress? I'll take two: shiny silver and shinier silver. For some reason I'd also like a new Intel i7 processor, thanks (backstory: this song was a collab with Intel (??))
