I guess that's what they are? This track is bouncy and weird, and the synths and synth drums (?) seem to be doing something good together that I can't put my finger on. The aesthetic makes no sense, but that's apparently what I'm looking for in a music video these days. Or at least right now, since I'm trapped in an anti-histamine stupor and shouldn't really be writing blog posts.

That headline is probably the most awesome I'll ever get to write. Red Maple next Thursday will have some truly unsettling house music. If your name is Grindcore then this is pretty much a mandatory event for you. Try it out here to see if you can endure the crunchy dystopic beats. This looks like another attempt by the Taxlo folks in Bmore to get some more awesome, interesting electronic talent in town and I hope it goes well.

Kingdom is now part of the Night Slugs' growing lineup of DJ's that make music that makes you feel uncomfortable in sort of a good way. Here's his hit video, released with Fool's Gold (I think):

Bok Bok on Radio 1

You should like the Night Slugs, because, among other reasons, they're not dubstep. There is something special in that London fog and they're definitely breathing it, leading to some sort of crazy mutation in musical tastes that cannot be matched. It's like the grotesquely awesome secret bastard child of squeee and other, more legitimate forms of music. If you have two hours to spare, you need to listen to this. Rusko killed on this Essential Mix back from 2008. As far as I'm concerned he's the current reigning king of dubstep. If you're in DC this weekend you need to see him run it. IN PERSON.
