SNOOP DOGGSTEP

This is kind of a neat thing. It's not too obnoxiously dubsteppy. It's definitely there, but it's no "Bass Cannon." This is a good time to mention that DJs apparently take that song seriously and play it all the time. It's a little terrifying and immediately drops all cred I've got for that particular turntable artiste. BASS CANNON BASS CANNON BASS CANNON BASS CANNON remember that one time I posted it?.

Moving along, here's a song from the tape:
Snoop Dogg - Be Like Me (Remix ft. P Money, Double E, Professor Green) by fuckyesmusic

Anyway go download the rest of it:

[EDIT: Turns out this mixtape actually samples "Bass Cannon." Sorry, yo.]

Like bmore club on valium

THE HELENATOR was excited about this. She's often excited about things. So I had my arm twisted into writing a review for Bird Peterson's most recent (is it even? not sure, don't care) mixtape. Usually I love the shit outta some Bird Peterson. But this one has me a little less than excited. It's bmore club (WHICH I LOVE BEYOND ALL ELSE IN THIS WORLD), but he made it weird, and took away its teeth. No more obnoxious claps, snares, or even laser beams. Gone. Little did he know that THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT AWESOME, THOSE ARE THE GOOD PARTS OF MY BMORE CLUB. Shit man, could he fuck with DC's bullshit gogo scene instead? Baltimore knows what it's doing, let well enough alone. I guess there's other tracks that are just ridic without being bmore club, and some of those have been remixed in a way that makes them electronicky and less obnoxious, but really I'm not impressed. Maybe with the bass turned way up it's a different experience but at present I am only disappoint. Hot Jams Forever by Bird Peterson

I GO HARDCORE

I've been meaning to post some of these tracks forever, in a long-promised hip-hop/rap post. Especially since DJ FUCKING PRETENTIOUS took over posting all of his bullshit nu-disco shit (what are you, French?). SO unAmerican.

This right here? 100% homegrown. Except for Sinden and Bok Bok, but whatever.

Favorite song of the last month, no joke. Another one of those tracks that I'm SURE my neighbors/roommates hate me for. Once that bassline kicks in, you're dead.
Darq E Freaker - WAKA x CHERRYADE (Sinden Edit) by Sinden

I posted this already, but fuckit.

Trina will always be relevant, if only in MY HEART.
Trina - Waist So Skinny featuring Rick-Ross by dbbTRINA

For your obligatory terrible but somehow still awesome (to me) song, we've got Look At Me. I mean, Lil' Scrappy and Night Slugs' own Bok Bok? HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG????

Turn your subs up to 11, put on all the bling you own, and hit PLAY. You'll thank me later.

Also, best Metro find EVER:
Yes, that IS a blinged-out Kool Aid Man. You're jealous.

GO GO GO POP POP POP BANG BANG

Rye Rye, who hails from Charm Chity, has recently put out some straight up and unapologetic Bmore club bangers. I'm torn on this one -- this seems far less creative than any of her previous tracks (compare Go! Pop! Bang! with her older Bang) but hey, I embrace anything new from the lady.

For the hell of it, you're getting two of her new ones and her older, bomber track Bang feat. MIA.

I should also note that she frequently does surprise appearances at shows in Baltimore. When I saw Crystal Castles/Rusko/Sinden she popped up during the latter's set and dropped some hot rhymes. As far as I'm concerned it was the icing on the cake of a fucking solid night of house and dubstep.

CHILLIN' OUT MAXIN' RELAXIN' ALL COOL

Just because this is probably horrifying enough to get you through your Halloween weekend. Enjoy!

Feeling So Fly

..Like a G6. This song has been plastered all over pop/hip-hop radio recently and I can't blame 'em. The chorus is insanely catchy plus there's a reference to my boys (AND ACADEMY AWARD WINNERS) Three Six Mafia. ++ points for you if you know what it is. Anyway I'd like to think that this Clit Talk chopped-and-screwed remix of Far East Movement's Like a G6 is the hip-hop equivalent of dubstep, the dance bullshit that white hipsters and teenage potheads like.

Bonus track of the week and fly beat for your Friday night shitshow:
A-Trak Ft. CyHi Prynce (nice name brah) - Ray Ban Vision

There are a dozen other hip hop tracks and remixes I want to throw at you but I need to save something for next week so I don't abandon this blog by Monday. This place sucks. Only redeeming factor is I added a blink tag to the titles. Too bad the only browser that supports it now is Firefox. USE FIREFOX TO VIEW THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. PEACE OUT.

SMITHING IT

Willow Smith is 9 (nine) years old. She is cooler than ALL OF US. You just wait — the hook in this will be sampled in everything, starting now. Whip your hair, bitches.
