Correction

Almost half a year ago I posted Skrillex's totally awesome song "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites". I claimed, or at least insinuated, that the sample used in that song was from the infamous N64 kid video. It now seems that I had my meme's crossed that day. It has been brought to my attention that the true source of that sample was the Cup Stacking Girl video. I wouldn't be a good DJ, scientist or blorgerator if I couldn't admit that I was wrong. In this case, I was.

Here is TRUE sample video, with Skrillex's song ingeniously matched up:

The blorgerator regrets the error.

I feel like we've been posting too much video game-related stuff recently. But that doesn't mean I can stop myself from posting it.

ZELDA: A LINK TO THE CLUB

Since this week is INTERNATIONAL VIDEO GAME CLUB REMIX WEEK (ok, it actually isn't, but really every week should be), I am going to follow up Helen's last post with one in a similar genre: ZELDA.

PS. There's a better copy HERE.

THE HELENATOR is hijacking this post to share what is by far the best remix album of the OoT soundtrack:
The Clipse - Lost Woods remix is particularly fantastic. I filled three heart containers just listening to it.

Crystal Castles is by and large unlistenable for most people. I mean, more unlistenable even than what we usually post here on a daily basis. CC actively aurally assaults you. It's like an NES finally got fucking pissed enough at you for shooting light guns at it for days on end in the 80s that it decided it wanted revenge. In an evil, evil way. Ostensibly there is singing in these "songs" but in reality it's just banshee screaming on top of all the rest of the noise.

But this - this is Crystal Castles made listenable. CC and Robert Smith of The Cure somehow produced this actual gem of a song. It's so emo, it's even cute! Don't worry, I'll post real CC later.

Edit: for title context, here is CC's excellent song from their first album, the ever-so-common-for-debut-albums name: Crystal Castles. (Their second album's name isn't any better, the cleverly titled Crystal Castles II).
